Muna says CUC will not extend Aggreko contract

He said CUC will have enough power in September and will no longer need to rent, for over $500,000 a month, Aggreko’s generators.

Last March, Muna and CUC Deputy Director  Wallon Young assured lawmakers that the agency would be producing 54 megawatts of power at Power Plant 1 by September.

Muna said there has been no change of plan since then, adding that CUC is also paying Aggreko on time.

Moreover, he added, the acquisition of spare parts for the ongoing repair operation of engines at Power Plant 1 has not been delayed.

“As far as a spare parts are concerned, we are still on schedule,” he said, adding that their repair effort has not been disrupted.
