Llecholch bags Master Tennis tourney trophy

Llecholch played the corners with his fast balls, running his opponent and also hitting drop shots.

Llecholch at the same time has a very strong first serve.There were 10 players who competed in the Masters level over the weekend. The Masters category composed of tennis players, 50 years old and up. The PPR’s tournament is in line with the hotel’s 25- year anniversary.Matsutaro, won the second place , also making some good shots but it was not enough to  stop Llecholch’s superb game.Llechoch beat Matsutaro in a score of 6, 2-6,2.Ben Ramos meanwhile beat Stone Bing-Fan to bag the bronze.Ramos defeated Stone in a score of  6,1-6-3.Ramos sliced the ball from corner to corner bringing his opponent closer to the net and then hitting a passing shot deep down the line.Ramos played his game consistently causing Stone to make unforced errors.The Masters event was also highlighted by a fundraiser for the Palau Junior Tennis Team.The two-day event raised $2,202 for the kids playing in the North Pacific Qualifying (NPQ) Tennis Tournament scheduled on Guam from June 14-20.Five kids, training under coach Ernestine Rengiil will have a chance to compete in the event.Palau Tennis Federation President Larry Wakakoro said that Sen. Alfonso Diaz, was one of the individuals supporting the kids.Wakakoro said Sen. Diaz donated $500. He is also thanking all those who attended the event and donated money for the kids’ chance to compete in the NPQ tournament.
