Associate Judge David A. Wiseman said Li Minglong can post 10 percent or $100 of the bail in cash and the remaining balance in unsecured bond.
Li was issued a non-resident worker entry permit status on March 28, 2001 which expired on Jan. 5, 2003. His passport expired on Dec. 14, 2000.
Li submitted an application for employment to the Department of Labor as a farmer but this was denied on Feb. 4, 2003.
Li then filed a labor complaint against his employer.
The Division of Immigration said because of Li’s failure to comply with the terms and conditions of his entry and due to his conduct, there is reason to believe that he will attempt to elude service.
Li is a deportable alien pursuant to the commonwealth law and regulations, Immigration stated.
The defendant was ordered to report to court to show cause why he should not be deported from the CNMI.
