Feds to visit Yap for budget consultation

 In a communication to Yap Gov. Sebastian Anefal, FSM President Emanuel Mori said the Compact-required joint budget consultation has been scheduled for Wednesday June 3, and Thursday, June 4.

Mori asked the governor to have his appropriate staff coordinate logistics for the meeting with Suzanne Lowe, assistant director for Compact management.

Besides Lowe, the FSM team members to travel to Yap for this consultation are:

   1. Fabian Nimea, director of the Office of Statistics, Budget, Overseas Development Assistance and Compact Management

   2. Marylou Howley, sector grants manager for health, environment, and private sector development

   4. Rainer Jimmy, sector grants manager for education, infrastructure, public-sector capacity building

   5. Sohs John, budget analyst

   6. Asterio Takesy, senior advisor

The OIA staff will include the following:

   1. Steve Savage, OIA Hawaii

   2. Toylinne Wada, OIA Hawaii

   3. Geral Shea, OIA Hawaii

   4. Tim Donahue, OIA Hawaii

   5. Tanya Joshua, Desk Officer-FSM, OIA, Washington.

In preparation for this consultation, the Office of Statistics, Budget, Overseas Development Assistance and Compact Management held its internal budget work in Palikir with key state budget officials.

Funding was made available by the office for six participants from each state to travel to Pohnpei to attend the workshop.
