Delegate Basilius, Chairman of the HOD Committee on Energy, Communications & Transportation says he is very happy for the opportunity to provide assistance to the learning progress of the students of his home state of Melekeok. Basilius commented that, ‘the people of Melekeok must be united in purpose and efforts when I comes to properly educating its children, to be well inform of their surrounding and hopefully that will enable them to be productive members of their community.’
The students were accompanied by Legislator Cleofas Siangeldeb who chairs the appropriate Committee on Health & Education of Melekeok State Legislature and School Principal Magaria Tellei and all 14 teachers of Melekeok Elementary School. Melekeok Speaker Collin Joseph and two concern parents also made the trip.According to Melekeok Elementary School Principal Magaria Tellei, ‘this was a wonderful opportunity for our students to appreciate their Natural Habitat and associate what they learn everyday in classrooms through text books, to real and practical experiences in their natural environment.’
