112 new Covid-19 cases

(Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.) — 112 additional individuals have been confirmed positive for Covid-19, bringing the CNMI total to 5,687 cases since March 26, 2020, CHCC reported on Friday evening. The individuals have been isolated and are actively monitored.

Of the 112 cases, which were identified on Feb. 2, 2022:

56 were identified via contact tracing, 47 via community testing and 9 via travel testing. Three were identified on Tinian.

As of Feb. 4, 2022, there were 10 individuals hospitalized as a result of Covid-19: five were unvaccinated, four vaccinated, and one partially vaccinated. One was discharged.

A total of 156 Covid-19 vaccines were administered on Feb. 4, 2022, resulting in 99.5% of the CNMI’s eligible population being fully vaccinated.

The vaccination statuses of the 112 new cases identified are pending verification.

A total of 882 Covid-19 tests were conducted on Feb. 3, 2022:

420 via community-based testing;

327 at the Covid-19 Community Center (referrals only);

109 at Tinian Health Center; and

26 at the Rota Health Center.

Of the total cases identified, as of Feb. 3, 2022, there had been 4,322 recoveries  and 1,342 active cases.

2,749 of the cases were identified via contact tracing; 2,336, community testing; and 602, travel testing.

Since March 2020, there have been 23 Covid-19-related deaths in the CNMI.

Individuals who test positive for Covid-19 should stay home (except to get medical care), wear a well-fitted mask if they must be around others, rest, stay hydrated, avoid sharing personal items, monitor their symptoms, and can take over-the-counter medicines, such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen, to relieve their symptoms.

Individuals experiencing Covid-19 symptoms should stay home (except to get medical care or get tested for Covid-19), wear a well-fitted mask if they must be around others, rest, stay hydrated, avoid sharing personal items, monitor their symptoms, and can take over-the-counter medicines, such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen, to relieve symptoms. Other options include seeing their health care provider or calling the CHCC Tele-Triage hotline at (670) 233-2067.
