George Cruz said they are urging the community to speak against the proposed changes which they believe were made to serve the interest of Bridge Capital.
In an interview last week, Cruz said they believe that the new regulations will help Bridge Capital “achieve its goal of having poker machines at the former La Fiesta Mall.”
Bridge Capital is the only company that has a proposal or business plan to use the former mall in San Roque, which is owned by the government.
Since the community has 30 days to comment since the proposed regulations came out in May 20, Cruz said they are asking the people, especially the anti-gambling advocates and those who have been affected by poker gambling, to submit their comments to Finance.
The people, he added, have already spoken when they voted against the casino during the last elections. “For our government to look for a back door to fit one company really disturbs the coalition and should disturb the community,” Cruz said.
