Heinz-Arnold team unveils platform, Web site

He said Rep. Heinz S. Hofschneider and running mate Speaker Arnold I. Palacios continue to reach out to the members of the community, regardless of political affiliations.

“They have this ability to listen to all sides of an argument, build consensus and reach out across the aisle to make sure that what needs to be done gets done,” Reyes said.

Besides their door-to-door campaign in the villages, Heinz and Arnold are regularly visiting with the manamko’ and consulting other sectors of the community.

“An open primary is a Republican Party tradition,” Reyes said. “We’re the only party that allows all voters to choose their candidates. And this direct link with the people — and our willingness to always listen to their concerns so we can better address them —continues once our candidates are in office.”

He expressed satisfaction with the growing support for Hofschneider and Palacios. “People have been supportive of the candidacy of Heinz and Arnold — people have confidence that they will do a good job leading the commonwealth.”

As the open Republican primary approaches, Reyes urged voters to do their homework about the candidates and make the right decision at the polls.

“Heinz and Arnold are experienced and thoughtful, and very serious about solving problems.  They can do the job if given a chance to do so,” Reyes said.

Urging voters to go to the polls, Reyes said, “If you want to improve the quality of life in our islands, if you want to improve the way government provides services, if you want the economy to improve, then go to the election precincts and vote for Heinz and Arnold.  You won’t be disappointed that you did.”
