Letter to the Editor: To the Retirement Fund administrator

The purpose of the request being and reported in the media to the general public is simple. It is to inform the general public that questions and inquires had been put forth to a government agency and the public expects an answer.

Now, I reviewed the Web site and it does not address the inquiry’s set forth in our Open Government Act request which in our view are simple non-technical questions. Again, simple questions expect simple answers, not technical. The report’s on the Retirement Fund’s Web site are based on total overall expenditures and does not satisfy the list of questionnaires stated in our Open Government Act requests, which in layman’s terms are simple questions.

Again, I am asking your office to please concentrate on the questions listed in our request.

I am not asking for an overall statistical list or report, but rather individual expenditure only, and judging from the Fund’s Web site I would have to hire a CONSULTANT or scientist and most likely a Suhruhana (Witch Doctor) at the same time to dissect the contents of such reports, something we cannot afford.

For example:

1. A statistical list or report of all loses

Example: The Fund gave Merrill Lynch $1, and the Fynd gained .50 cents. Dollar per dollar not bulk figures Mr. Aguon.

2. How much are Merrill Lynch’s consultants, money managers, management and so forth being compensated?

Example: The Consultant Merrill Lynch is paid $2 million to carry out investment opportunities. Merrill Lynch Director is paid $20 per hour. Staff: $12 per hour for processing and delivering services, office supplies and so forth.

3. How much are the legal counsels of the Fund being compensated?

Example: Mr. or Ms. Smith is being paid $200,000 per annum for legal representation and advice plus housing allowance.

4. How much are the Fund’s consultants being compensated?

Example: Mr. / Ms. Smith is compensated $200,000 for six months to produce a report.

5. How much is the Fund board members being compensated individually? Including all other benefits?

Example:

a. Mr. Smith is paid $300 to attend a board meeting plus $150 car rental, plus $300 for room and board

6. Airline tickets purchased?

Example:  Board authorized ABCD Travel Agency as sole independent travel agency company to handle all travel arrangements for the board including all other amenities.

Simple answers are being sought by simple ordinary citizens.
