CUC to conduct system maintenance in Kagman 3

Gary P. Camacho, CUC power division manager and public information officer, said this maintenance project will consist of four stages, and the first stage will be initiated on June 27 and not June 20 as earlier reported.

As a result, he said, Kagman 3 areas will experience power interruption from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., but will be isolated to laterals only.

“The line crew will be working in many areas throughout the day and will only interrupt power to a certain street within the feeder to perform the necessary repairs and re-energize the street lateral when the area is complete,” he said.

The streets to be affected include Ladda St., Puteng Dr., Screw Pine, Chopak Dr., Pine Dr., Half Flower St., Sour Plum St., Lalanghita Rd., Dyers Fig St., Velvet Leaf Ct., Silver Pipturus Ave., Mastwood St., Apilas Ave., Palambra Ct., Beggar Weed Ct., Indian Beech Ct., Silver Bush Ave., Hamlang Ave., Forbidden Island Rd. and Kagman Rd.

Camacho said the maintenance project will incorporate the replacement of approximately 300 deteriorated pole top pins or pole hardware throughout the Kagman 3 area.

The deteriorated pins are of steel composite and were installed 12 years ago and have now exceeded their life span, CUC said.

Because of their age and extensive exposure to the elements they require replacements to reinforce the circuit, CUC added.

CUC said because of the consistent ocean salt spray in the area, the new replacement pins have fiberglass shafts and are expected to be more dependable.

The remaining three stages of the project will be announced at a later date.

CUC said it apologizes for any inconvenience the power interruption may impose on the community as it promises to continue working diligently to minimize future interruptions.
