KRISHNAN Das is the July Ace of the Month for the Saipan Golf Association’s 2025 season after shooting a net score of 66 during the July monthly tournament held at the Coral Ocean Resort golf course on Sunday, Aug. 3 — with special thanks to hosts Mr. and Mrs. Patric Cepeda.
Das’s consistent play on both the front and back nine secured him the win.
Posting a front nine score of 42 and a back nine of 41, Das accumulated a gross total of 83. Sporting a handicap of 17, his net score of 66 was enough to outpace the field and earn the July Ace of the Month honor.
In second place was Freddy Cataluna, who finished with a gross score of 73 (39 front, 34 back) and an impressive low handicap of 2, giving him a net 71.
Third place ended in a tie between Ed Manibusan and Joe I. Sablan, both posting nets of 75. Manibusan recorded rounds of 40 and 42 for a gross 82 (handicap 7), while Sablan’s steady play (51 front, 49 back) totaled a gross 100 with a generous 25 handicap.
Das now joins the 2025 Ace of the Month winners: Larry Deleon Guerrero (January), Joe Sablan (February), Mariano Fajardo (March), Freddy Cataluna (April), Jung Eun Teack (May), and Renee Batalones (June).
In the optional play, the Closest to the Pin winners were Ed Manibusan on hole #3, Jack Iglecias on hole #7, and Manny Alvarez on hole #14. The Longest Drive winners were Freddy Cataluna on hole #4 and Patrick Cepeda on hole #18.
The SGA August Ace of the Month Tournament will be played on Aug. 17 at the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort East Course, with tee time at 9:30 a.m. and showtime at 9 a.m.
