Patrol Division Chief Ismael Aguon said that several theft and burglary incidents were reported to the police from Thursday last week through the weekend.
Aguon said that a man reported to police on July 16 at 5:10 am that he was asleep outside of his relative’s house in Ngerbeched and when he woke up his wallet was already missing.The wallet contained cash amounting to $2,000 and personal documents.Police responded and conducted investigation on the scene. At 11 am that same day, the wallet was found within the scene.A woman also reported that someone went to their store in Ngerbeched on July 15 and attempted to break in to the store.The burglars damaged the door but did not enter the establishment.On July 16, the owner discovered that someone had torn the window’s screen and was able to reach inside and stole cigarettes.A man reported that someone broke into his residence and Airai and stole clothes and cash amounting to $2,000.On July 17, employees of Payless market reported that someone went to their store and grabbed an alcoholic beverage and fled afterwards.On July 18, someone broke into Bem Ermii wagon in Airai and stole items.Also on July 18 at 9:50 pm, a man reported that someone broke into the Palau Community College bookstore and opened a donation box and stole its contents.The employee has yet to conduct an inventory list of the stolen items.
