In yesterday’s press briefing at the Hard Rock Café, Marpac marketing manager Joseph “Jojo” Camacho said that the custom-tube frame buggy will be given out to the winner on Saturday evening, but he or she must be present to win.
Camacho said the construction of the dirt buggy started in November last year on Guam and ran for about six to eight months.
“It is a one-of-a-kind dirt buggy which is custom-built,” Camacho said.
He added that the idea was initialized in September last year, but it took sometime for the buggy to be finished because they had to get exact measurements of the parts and have the parts sent off to the mainland to be constructed.
He said it took a long time for 13 to 18 people to construct the frame of the dirt buggy at the J.Q. Fabrication on Guam.
The buggy is powered by Toyota with a 4-cylinder motor and Toyota axles, he said.
The buggy arrived on Saipan on June 18 and “has been everywhere” on island since then.
Camacho said to win the buggy, participants must drop entry coupons found in 12-pack beers from the stores.
“The promo started in April but there is still for a chance to win the dirt buggy until Saturday. So far, only roughly more than half of the entry coupons we have printed out have been turned in and the rest of the entry coupons are still out in the stores.”
Camacho said the party will start at the Hard Rock Café in Garapan at 6 p.m. and two bands will be performing for the night.
“We have invited the Da Udda band from Guam and the Kings and Dreamers band from Saipan, and there is no cover charge,” he added.
Other prizes at stake include Budweiser gear, cellular phones from Docomo Pacific and items from Boarderline.
Sponsors for the promo are Hard Rock Café Saipan, Docomo Pacific, Hertz, Boarderline, Power 99, Chalan Kanoa Beach Hotel, Sauza and Marianas Shipping Company.
