SOME commentators say that federal money funded the Kanat Tabla road improvement project, and to be honest, yes definitely, I couldn’t agree more.
But the bad road situation there had been in existence for so many years, and people in the area suffered and asked their elected officials to fix the problem. Federal money was also available to the NMI back then.
How many governors and lawmakers were in office and had done nothing to make it happen — or perhaps they had tried, but it wasn’t good enough.
I even wrote a letter to Congressman Kilili who then provided a good explanation about federal funding for public roads and infrastructure. Maybe Gov. Ralph Torres, the previous Precinct #5 representatives and DPW read his reply and followed his advice so they were able to tap the available federal funds.
I don’t write my letter of appreciation for political gain. What matters to me is the long overdue improvement of the Kanat Tabla road so that the people there will no longer suffer.
So again, Si Yu’us Ma’ase to this administration.
Respectfully,
