26th Covid-19-related death; 111 additional cases

(CHCC) — The Governor’s Covid-19 Task Force and the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. confirmed the CNMI’s 26th Covid-19-related death on Saturday evening.

As of Feb. 19, 2022, there were nine individuals hospitalized as a result of Covid-19: one was unvaccinated, and eight were vaccinated.

One of nine was on a ventilator.

111 additional individuals have been confirmed positive for Covid-19, bringing the CNMI total to 8,422 cases since March 26, 2020.

Of the 111 cases identified:

108 were identified on Feb. 18, 2022, and three prior to Feb. 18, 2022;

Six were identified on Tinian, and one on Rota.

A total of 207 Covid-19 vaccine shots were administered on Feb. 19, 2022; of the eligible population, 55.7% have received an additional dose. The vaccination rate is calculated using the 2020 Census population estimates for the CNMI and includes the eligible five-year-olds and older population.

The vaccination statuses of the 111 new cases identified are pending verification.

A total of 875 Covid-19 tests were conducted on Feb. 18, 2022:

516 via Community-Based Testing;

301 at the Koblerville Covid-19 Community Center;

36 at the Tinian Health Center; and

22 at the Rota Health Center.

Of the total cases identified, as of Feb. 18, 2022, there were 6,765 recoveries and 1,631 active cases.

7,798 of the cases were identified via community testing and 624 through travel testing.
