Top Korean choreographers, dancers to perform on Saipan

The group’s visit also coincides with the completion of the Korean Center in Saipan.

Park Si Jong, general art director and choreographer of Park Si Jong Dance Company will be assisted by Hong Ji Young and Kin Ji Sung during their performance dubbed as “ Impression” on Dance” at the Taga Hall in World Resort at 5 p.m. on August 9.

Jun Ho Park, P Art Music Academy president and organizer of the event, said the dance presentation is free and the community is invited to witness presentation.

The Park Si Jong Dance Company representing Chungbuk province will present different dance presentation like Eum Pung Nong Wol, Bi Pung Ga, Tae Pyong Moo, Chae Sun Hyang Moo, Sal Puri and Wind Flower.

The performers will arrive on Friday, Jun Ho Park said.

The international performers will be backed up by Korean local dancers – the Saipan Poong Mul Pae.

Simong Sin, facilitator of the Saipan Poong Mul Pae, said they will perform Korean traditional music and dance. “Our goal is to show the Korean culture to the community in Saipan.”

Park Si Jong said that in history both Saipan and Korea have a lot in common. “Saipan became now one of the world famous resorts but I know there used to be suffering from wars in it like Korea.”

She said that Saipan has overcome its sufferings, showing the message of peace and prosperity to the world and “this is the reason I feel this performance is valuable and worth to see” in Saipan.

The dance company, she added, will do its best to make a good contribution to build up Saipan’s image among potential Korean tourists.

Park Si Jong thanked Lee Kyung Goo, chairman of Korean Association of Saipan, Mayor Juan B. Tudela and Perry Tenorio, Marianas Visitors Authority manager for supporting the event.
