Letter to the Editor: Georgetown Consultants

Who are these consultants fooling? What they have failed to tell the people of the commonwealth is that a majority of those garment factories that packed up and left had unpaid power bills and these were listed as revenue losses for CUC, and ULTIMATELY passed on to the consumers without their knowledge.

Concerning CUC’s unreliable power supply, they fail to mention the many sole-sourced sweatheart contracts to the best friends of Mr. Emergency Declaration, Governor Fitial.

Whatever happened to his best friends, sole-source DCM & EEI Partnership’s default contracts worth $5.2 million?

Where are the 10 megawatts at Power Plant 2 that CISCO supposedly turned over to CUC?

Earlier it was reported that we have an expert engineer from American Samoa, Mr. Waylon Young. He was hired on a two-year contract and is paid $180,000  per year.

We ask this expert the following:

a) What is the current megawatt output for engines No. 1 to 8 at Power Plant 1?

b) What is the total megawatts achieved for Power Plants 1 and 2 not counting the 30 megawatts from Aggreko and Power Plant 4?

c) How long will the cracked foundations of engines no.5, 6, 7, and 8 last at Power Plant 1?

d) What is the total megawatt output achieved?

Last but not least, CUC has just announced the hiring of  Mr. Utu Abe Malae. Again, who is Georgetown fooling? They announced a 30 percent revenue loss but yet they can afford to hire an American Samoan senator to be the assistant executive director for operations.

Being that CUC is cash-strapped and is  handing down its gross revenue losses to all the consumers, what was the salary and special benefits offered to the  senator?

Aggreko is set to be de-linked come Sept. 12. Is GEORGETOWN ready to accept responsibility and accountability if we are left in the dark again at a time when SCHOOLS have already opened?

You be the judge.
