A special Mass was held Saturday on Saipan.
Her remains were flown yesterday to her home island of Rota in preparation for the internment this Tuesday.
She is survived by her husband, Cristobal Songao Inos, daughters Denis Lorraine and Anna Blossom, siblings, including Sen. Paterno Hocog, R-Rota, and other relatives.
Dr. Inos was born on May 12, 1954 in Songsong on Rota.
At the time of her death, she was a member of Northern Marianas College’s board of regents.
“Dr. Rita Hocog Inos was highly instrumental and played a key role in providing leadership and guidance in Northern Marianas College’s successful efforts in 2008/2009 to obtain accreditation reaffirmation,” reads part of Senate Resolution 16-43.
