This year as the federal government enforces the minimum wage hike in the CNMI, some public officials and their side pocket investors are crying foul.
They don’t like the minimum wage hike and some of them also don’t want the federal immigration takeover.
They still want control of the local immigration system so they can keep paying low wages.
When is this monkey business going to stop?
It’s bad enough that our islands are infested with poker machines, which have hurt a lot of our local people, and then there are the prostitutes who are chasing away our tourists, and our infrastructure that needs to be upgraded to help our people have better water and power system.
All the ongoing band-aid work on our power system will not last because we don’t have brand new power generators.
We have squandered millions of dollars to pay for an off-island lobbyist to block federal takeover but this only hurt our economy and our people.
Our important infrastructure has been neglected because our public officials are incompetent in carrying out their public duties.
We need some kind of miracle public officials to restore moral ethical values in our local government and have social justice for our people.
