DECM continues to climb the ranks in the masters division of the Saipan Centennial Lions Club Basketball League as they bagged a double-digit victory over Magalahi Eagles 95-60 Saturday at the TSL Sports Complex.
DECM seized the initiative right from the start with Tabora delivering nine points while Pangelinan and Moises draining two triples each as their team stormed to a 31-8 advantage.
The Eagles tried to catch up in the second canto led by Guidotti who scored 10 points while Odicta added the extra firepower with eight points. Despite coming back to life, the Eagles lacked the defensive prowess to stop DECM’s unrelenting assault and continued to trail, 34-52.
In the third quarter, the Eagles finally minimized DECM’s production to 11 team points but they could drop 12 points only and thus remained behind.
In the final quarter, DECM reestablished control as Tabora, Moises, Pangelinan and Baul connected a shot each from behind the three-point line while the rest of the team also contributed buckets for a 95-60 blowout victory.
Bluehauz vs Eagle Construction
Bluehauz clinched the second win of the night as they rallied past Eagle Construction with a second half rally.
In the first half of the game, neither team could gain the upper hand. Bluehauz’s unselfishness was their biggest strength as Esdrelon’s ability to feed his teammates led to a handful of assists while he chipped in five points of his own.
Led by Santos, Eagles Construction was also relentless on the offensive end, creating second-chance buckets to end the first quarter in an 18-18 deadlock.
Bluehauz effectively shut down Santos in the next two quarters, but Eagle Construction continued to fight back.
In the final quarter, Bluehauz did what they do best: finish strong.
With Esdrelon and Santos in the frontline, and with Diaz and Peredo sinking a bucket each, Bluehauz unleashed three-pointers in the final 10 minutes of the game en route to an 84-70 victory.
