Letter to the Editor: Wrong guy

While I was getting the last of my vegetables that day, I noticed that my red Hyundai car’s passenger door was opened.

I caught the burglars red-handed — two women, whom I will call as Batman & Robin.

A police officer later arrived at the scene and in my opinion acted as Johnny Mentor.

One of the burglars quickly became disoriented when I caught them trying to vandalize my car.

She kicked me several times but I managed to counter block with my knees. She bit me twice on my left and right arms.

I let loose the bite just holding her (left & right) hands to protect and defend myself.

At this point, I was just waiting for her anger to subside. I kept telling her to stop but she was completely out of control.

At this moment, I shouted to her friend — Robin — to call 911. Just imagine, your vehicle was vandalized and when you caught them they retaliated and acted violently.

What a nightmare for me. I couldn’t call 911 because my cellular phone has no more battery.

The police officer or Spiderman arrived to the rescue — as Johnny Mentor.

He immediately pulled me away from the person who vandalized my car and handcuffed me and said you are under arrest because Batman’s witness is Robin.

And the sad thing about my story is that my neighbors witnessed what happened but did not tell the police officer the truth.

I’m writing this incident report to warn good people from being victimized in a similar situation.

There’s nothing you can do if you catch the vandals red handed – do not take the law under your hands — call 911.

I also would like to make a sincere apology to the Sabalu market vendors and everyone else who witnessed the scene. I am very sorry this situation happened. The Lord is my savior!
