Hocog says it’s OK to have a private clinic at CHC

“There are always people who waste time on none sense rather using time to be productive or help make things work. These are probably the people who need help the most,” explains Dr. Larry Hocog, a family doctor, in an email sent to the Variety.

Greg Cruz, the president of the TaoTaoTano group, shared an email addressed to Public Health acting Secretary John Tagabuel, inquiring among others things, about the operation of a private clinic at CHC.

In his inquiry, Cruz sought clarification on the operation of a private clinic at CHC, lease agreement to supplies, manpower and usage/payment of utilities.

Variety verified the information and sought Dr. Hocog’s reaction.

The doctor explained CHC has opened unoccupied clinic spaces for any private provider willing to pay rent.

He added this was announced to the public and all private clinics and doctors’ on island are aware of the opportunity.

“I am the first private group to sign up. I operate my clinic using staff I hired locally and pay out of my own pocket,” Hocog said.
