The last day of filing a candidacy is set for August 10.
The 7 independent candidates, with their supporters and families, came together at the Commonwealth Election Commission office in Capital Hill.
The independent gubernatorial team of Juan T. Guerrero and House Floor Leader Joseph James N. Camacho joined the seven much to the surprise of their supporters.
In separate interviews, the Guerrero-Camacho team said they want to introduce change in the government and bring back the people’s trust to public service.
The seven new candidates are: Victoria T. Guerrero (Precinct 1), Henry A. Torres (Precinct 2), Ramon B. Aldan (Precinct 2), Rita C. Dela Cruz – Chong (Precinct 3), Miguel A. Camacho (Precinct 3), Frederick Peters George N. Camacho (Precinct 4) and Deleon Guerrero (Precinct 5).
Guerrero and Camacho said they agree with the independent candidates’ call for an alliance.
