12 theft, burglaries and malicious mischief reported to police

Five grand larcenies, three burglaries and theft and four malicious mischief incidents were reported from August 6 through August 10.

Patrol Division Chief Ismael Aguon said that a woman called on August 6 and reported that an unknown suspect entered a room at a hotel in Airai and stole cell phone and $70 cash.A man reported to police on August 7 that three individuals went to his residence in Airai and harvested his betel nuts without his consent.The suspects stole $80 worth of betel nuts.A woman also called on August 9 and reported that someone entered her apartment in Ngerchemai and stole one Pioneer speaker.The suspect managed to get inside by tearing the screen door.A restaurant in Ngerbeched was burglarized and the suspect stole assorted beer.The incident was reported on August 9 at 2:22 pm. 48 containers of beers were stolen from the establishment.Someone broke into a man’s residence in Iyebukel and stole Television. The victim reported the incident on August 9 at 7:05 pm.A man stole a cash box belonging to a motel in Ngerbeched on August 9. The suspect has been identified but no arrest yet has been made.A woman reported on August 6 that a man threw a hard object to her house window.A woman reported that someone broke the signal light of her vehicle which was parked in an establishment in Topside on August 8.Someone stole fishing gears in Ngesaol on August 9.Someone went to a restaurant in Idid on August 10 and broke the front glass door.A store in Idid was also burglarized on August 10. The burglar cut the padlock and entered the store.An inventory was being conducted to determine if items had been stolen from the store.
