Robbery defendant back in jail

VINCENT DLG Pua was remanded to the custody of the Department of Corrections after Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho on Tuesday granted the motion of the Attorney General’s Office to revoke the defendant’s bail.

Judge Camacho also relieved the third-party custodian, Pua’s girlfriend, of any responsibility regarding the defendant.

At the hearing, Pua was represented by attorney Brien Sers Nicholas.

Assistant Attorney General Heather Barcinas, who appeared for the government, asked the court to revoke Pua’s bail after the third-party custodian complained that he was not complying with the court conditions and that she no longer wanted to be his third-party custodian.

Pua was released to his girlfriend as third-party custodian last year after posting a $15,000 unsecured bond.

Police said Pua, 29, and co-defendant Brandon L. Benavente, 37, robbed two women in Garapan in Sept. 2021 who had just come out of Club 88.

The defendants were charged with robbery.
