Kagman poker arcade loses $10,000 to robbers

Department of Public Safety acting spokesman PO2 Jason Tarkong said the police responded to the robbery incident at about 7:33 a.m.

Police said the 33-year-old cashier was repairing one of the poker machines when the two suspects entered the establishment.

The first suspect grabbed one of the victim’s arms and held it behind her back.

The second suspect, armed with a machete, asked her for the key but she would not give it up, police said.

After the first suspect punched the cashier in the stomach, she gave up the key to the second suspect.

Police said the second suspect opened the cashier’s booth, took the cash money and the computer hard drive.

Tarkong said hard drive contained the security camera recording.

The two robbers taped the victim’s mouth and wrists and fled the scene.

After the incident, the victim was rushed to the Commonwealth Health Center where she was treated for minor injuries, redness and tenderness to both wrists and pain in her stomach area, police said.

Police described the first suspect as about 5’5” tall, heavy set, wearing long-sleeve shirt, dark clothing and a hat.

The second suspect is about 5’6” tall, skinny, wearing long-sleeve shirt, dark clothing, a hat and armed with a machete.

Tarkong said anyone having information about this crime should call the NMI Crime Stoppers Hotline at 234-7272.

All calls are kept anonymous, no caller ID is used and a reward of up to $1,000 is given for any information leading to an arrest.
