Dante Yumul, auto-mechanics instructor and Norisa Camacho, culinary instructor, said they were impressed with the level of enthusiasm of their students.
The number of their students is also increasing, they added.
“They will excel in their fields,” Yumul said, adding that his students are also fast learners.
He has 15 students and is hoping that all of them will finish the course.
Camacho said her 13 students are very eager to learn.
“I like to see them pursue the advanced course,” she said.
In her class, students learn about sanitation, knife-cutting, sausage-, stock- and soup-making as well as different cooking techniques.
She said her students include housewives, high school graduates and workers.
“They are serious in their studies,” she added.
The institute’s education director, Victorino S. Cepeda, said the increase in the number of students is due the coming federalization of local immigration, which will impose restrictions on the hiring of guest workers.
