Dominique Steele defeats Kelvin Fitial via unanimous decision

KELVIN “The Big Hit” Fitial was handed his second loss in the B2 Fighting Series in Summersville, West Virginia by Dominique Steele who won via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).

In the B2 Fighting Series in August, Fitial was knocked out by Rakim Cleveland in the first round. Against Steele, however, Fitial’s overall game had clearly improved as he went toe-to-toe in all three five-minute rounds

No videos of the fight were posted as it was a pay-per-view match but Fitial and his coach Raymond Diaz told Variety that it was mostly a stand-up exchange between the two fighters and that the score cards were just about right.

“We worked on adjustments after Kelvin’s last fight such as keeping his hands up,” Diaz said. “Kelvin is an all-around fighter and we want him to not worry about using power, but technique.”

Diaz added, “When we came in, we knew it was going to be a tough fight. We just focused on standing and banging it out.”

Steele scored a takedown during the fight which led to the unanimous decision.

Fitial said he and his coach had been working on his overall performance for about five months now.

Fitial said he is just getting started. “In my first fight [in August] I was feeling the crowd, but in my second fight, it’s all started to come together,” he added.

Going through all three rounds is an accomplishment in itself, Fitial said, adding that his vigorous training is paying off.

For their continued support, Fitial said he would like to thank his wife and child, his coach Raymond Diaz, the Four Seasons Gym and IT&E.
