Club Wonderful, E&E defend slots in Miller Lite Cup

Mangali mounted the attack in the second quarter firing 10 of 16 points while Ong who controlled the offense in the beginning of the second half geared up to score half of his 20 points in the final quarter.

After enjoying a two-point lead in the first quarter, Club Wonderful fell behind as Chinatown defenders managed to limit Ong’s point to two towards the end of the first half. Bert Laquian and Milo Felipe launched the rally both scoring eight points to take the lead in the second quarter.

Then, Dick Tibayan picked up where Laquian and Felipe left off scoring eight points while Cocoy Rotap fired a three point shot to stretch their lead against Club Wonderful in the third quarter.

The battle rage on in the final quarter as both teams exchanged hits. It went on neck and neck as Ong scattered 10 points for Club Wonderful, and Laquian nine points for Chinatown.

With its scoring hands dwindling down to three pairs, Chinatown kept the surge.

However, with Nelson Espeleta and Chris Lansang backing him up, Ong pushed on to help Club Wonderful outscore Chinatown.

E&E 81, PTC 62

THE E&E cagers inched their way up as each of them basketed their free throw shots after picking up fouls in the final quarter leading to their 81-62 win over Pacific Trading Company.

Alex Ocampo who led the scoring hands fired his two free throws to finish with 28 points.

Mark Francisco went 4-for-4 and fired two consecutive three-pointers in the second quarter for 18 points markers and Dennis Morales basketed three of his four free throws to tally 12 points.

With Jojo Garon and Perry Inos Jr. launching the offense, PTC was leading by six points in the first quarter.

Francisco’s shot from behind the arc helped E&E take the lead towards the end of the second quarter and they never looked back.

With Ocampo scattering 10 points, E&E pounded PTC with 31 points in the fourth quarter to and secured their victory.
