Public hearings on health issues postponed

House Committee on Health, Education and Welfare Chairman Ralph DLG. Torres  said they would meet to reschedule the hearings.

“We may hold the hearings next week,” he added.

The first public hearing was scheduled for yesterday in the House of Representatives chamber on Capital Hill at 10 a.m.

The second public hearing was supposed to be held at 6:30 p.m. at the multi-purpose center in Susupe.

Torres, R-Saipan, said the issues to be covered include doctors, emergencies, medical referrals, dialysis and other concerns regarding the Department of Public Health.

Despite the postponement of the public hearings, Torres said the general public is still encouraged to submit written testimony before the next hearing, or attend the hearings to voice out their concerns.

The public can drop their written testimony prior to the public hearing at  Torres’ office at the legislative building.
