The first robbery happened on Friday, Sept. 18, around 12 midnight, at Viva II Poker in Chalan Kanoa.
Two men tried to rob the establishment but ended up stealing a customer’s purse containing credit and identification cards and $280 cash.
One of the robbers assaulted the guard with a hammer, hitting him in the chest.
Police said the guard suffered minor injuries, like redness and tenderness to the left chest area.
The victim was treated by DPS medics but he refused to be transported to the hospital, police added.
The next robbery happened on Saturday, 5:27 p.m., at New Star Poker in San Jose.
Two men armed with a machete attempted to rob establishment but failed after the cashier, who refused to unlock the door, called the police.
The robbers fled and were last seen leaving in an old Mitsubishi Mirage, police said.
The third robbery occurred on Sunday, 7:37 a.m., at U Luck Poker in San Jose.
A man armed with machete, robbed the poker establishment and took $3,000 in cash, police said.
Investigation indicated that the cashier left the cashier booth door unlocked while waiting for an employee to arrive.
Armed with a machete, the robber entered the booth, took the cash from the cashier’s drawer and fled the scene, police said. The robber was wearing a light colored face mask, a cap, a shirt and blue jeans.All the suspects in the three poker robberies are still at large.
