Reyes eyes humanities oriented activities for youth

He said he would want to work with Northern Marianas College as the council is already in a partnership with the Public School System.

There are humanities programs for teachers like the ongoing Teachers Institute, he added.

He said teachers who undergoing the training will be able to expand their knowledge about arts, history and culture and share it with their students.

There are community activities for children like the Motherread program but Reyes is looking forward to “refining” more humanities programs.

“We would want to be community oriented,” he added.

Lt. Gov. Eloy S. Inos yesterday proclaimed October as NMI Humanities Month.

“This is a month for the community to reflect on the importance of humanities in our culture,” Reyes said. “The month is important for the people to give credit and reflect about the importance of Humanities Council projects.”

He said they will be facilitating more activities for the community next month.
