THE NMI Swim Team continues to make waves after the fourth day of the World Aquatics Swimming Championships in Singapore — breaking two NMI national records and gaining valuable international experience through the young talents of Piper Raho, Maria Batallones, Kouki Watanabe, and Michael Miller.

The highlight of the day came early with 15-year-old Piper Raho’s breakout performance in the Women’s 50m Backstroke.

Raho finished third in Heat 2 with a time of 31.37 seconds — just 0.49 seconds behind the lead swimmer — beating her personal best by over three seconds, setting a new NMI national record and a 15–16 age group record.

Later in the day, the NMI quartet teamed up for the Mixed 4x100m Medley Relay, clocking in at 4:31.93, breaking their previous NMI national record set at the 2023 World Championships in Fukuoka.

Piper’s NMI national record added to Team NMI’s strong performances throughout the championships, which also included Michael Miller’s personal best in the Men’s 50m Butterfly (27.64), Kouki Watanabe’s PB in the Men’s 100m Breaststroke (1:08.90), and Maria Batallones’ NMI national record in the Women’s 100m Breaststroke (1:17.38).
