Karn Ebert and Raymond Ngodrii Tiakl were both charged for selling marijuana joints.
Ebert and Tiakl were summoned to appear on September 11 at 9 am and 10 am to face their charges.Tiakl was charged with four counts of trafficking in a controlled substance while Ebert was charged with three counts of trafficking in a controlled substance and one count of possession of a controlled substance.Tiakl and Ebert were both arrested after separate incidents of buy bust operation.The affidavit submitted in court stated that personnel of the Narcotics Division conducted a buy bust operation for Tiakl on February 23, February 24 and February 26, 2009.The court document stated that a confidential informant managed to buy two marijuana joints from Tiakl on February 23 in exchange of $10.The authorities conducted another buy bust at 7:52 pm on that same day, February 23 and the CI bought again two marijuana joints.The CI purchased again one marijuana joint from Tiakl during the third and fourth buy bust operation on February 24 and 26.He was arrested on March 17.The buy bust operation for Ebert was conducted on February 18, April 16, April 30 and May 12. The first and second buy bust incidents occurred at his residence in Ikelau while the third and last incidents occurred at his working place in Malakal, at the Palau Shipping Company.The CI managed to purchase six marijuana joints from Ebert during the four incidents of buy bust operation.The court document stated that Ebert admitted that he had been selling marijuana for 11 years now. The last drug deal was on May 12.
