Runnin’ Rebels upset Sixers, 69-68

He made it and handed the Runnin’ Rebels the victory that the Sixers was also a penalty shot away during last Thursday’s game of the Saipan Rotary Club Youth Basketball League at the Gilbert  C. Ada Gym.

Ryan Ichihara led the Runnin’ Rebels’ scoring hands basketing 25 points while Kiyoshi backed him up with 22 points.

The Sixers were pounding the Runnin Rebels with a two-figure lead but they lost their momentum when Matthew Duenas left the court and took of his jersey just 10 minutes to the ball game.

This gave the referee the ground to call for a technical foul for which Ichihara fired the two penalty shots.

Minus Matt Duenas who appeared to have been having an issue with their coach, the Sixers managed to inch their way ahead of the Runnin Rebels.

Agtarap picked up fouls but basketed only one of the two free throws giving the Sixers a one lead to protect.

The imminent win slipped off their hands when Kiyoshi picked up foul.
