NMC students elect leaders today

The election was moved because of Typhoon Choi-Won, Office of Student Activities and Leadership program coordinator Perry Inos Jr. said.

Candidates also needed an extra day to spread the word about their platforms, he added.

The candidates were informed about the approval of their candidacies a week and a half before election.

Students, for their part, were informed about the candidates and their platforms through online profiles, signs, flyers and bulletin boards on campus.

Current president Miles Rodriguez, who is seeking another term,  is urging her fellow students to vote.

She is running unopposed.

Dean of Student Services Janice Tenorio commended the candidates for stepping forward and indicating their willingness to take on additional responsibilities.

The ASNMC, she added, plays an important role at the college.

“There are many activities planned for students this school year, and the ASNMC will be at the forefront of all these activities,” she said.
