Casino commission to hear complaints against IPI

A STATUS conference will start at 10 a.m. today, Thursday, as part of the administrative hearings on the complaints against Imperial Pacific International.

The Commonwealth Casino Commission will serve as appellate court to hear the complaints of CCC Executive Director Andrew Yeom against IPI.

Commission Chairman Edward C. Deleon Guerrero said these include the casino operator’s inability or unwillingness to timely pay its employees and settle in full its payables to all vendors, including manpower and construction agencies, among others.

In August 2019, the CCC executive director filed a complaint against IPI for the untimely payment of the casino license fee.

This was followed by another complaint for IPI’s failure to contribute $40 million in community benefit fund money in 2018 and 2019 as required by the casino license agreement.

Last year, Yeom filed a complaint against IPI for its failure to pay the regulatory fee due on Oct. 1 in the amount of $3.15 million.
