(CHCC) — Fifty-one additional individuals have been confirmed positive for Covid-19, bringing the CNMI total to 3,802 cases since March 28, 2020. The individuals have been isolated and are actively monitored.
Of the 51 cases identified:
• 48 were identified on Jan. 12, 2022 (2 on Rota, 2 on Tinian), 2 on Jan. 11, and 1 on Jan. 7
• 20 identified via contact tracing, 21 via community testing, 10 via travel testing
As of Jan. 13, 2022, there were 9 individuals hospitalized as a result of Covid-19:
• 5 unvaccinated, 4 vaccinated; 1 on a ventilator
• 1 discharged
A total of 189 Covid-19 vaccines were administered on Jan. 13, 2022, resulting in 97.5% of the CNMI’s eligible population being fully vaccinated.
The vaccination statuses of the 51 cases identified are pending verification.
A total of 490 Covid-19 tests were conducted on Jan. 12, 2022:
• 349 community-based testing
• 54 at the Covid-19 Community Center (referrals only)
• 48 at the Rota Health Center
• 39 at the Tinian Health Center
Of the cases identified since Oct. 28, 2021, as of Jan. 12, 2022:
• 3,029 recoveries
• 465 active cases
• 17 Covid-19-related deaths
There have been 20 Covid-19 related deaths since March 2020.
Since Oct. 28, 2021, there have been 3,511 cases:
• 1,703 were identified via contact tracing
• 1,662 via community testing
• 146 via travel testing
