GOVERNOR Ralph DLG Torres last week approved House Local Bill 21-50, which appropriates $90,000 in Tinian’s pachinko slot machine and poker fee collections for the Tinian Mayor’s Office and scholarship program.
Authored by former Rep. Antonio SN Borja, H.L.B. 21-50 is now Tinian Local Law 21-14.

According to the new local law, $90,000 will go to the Tinian municipal scholarship program; professional services programs, personnel, discretion and operations of the Tinian mayor’s office; personnel and operations of the Tinian municipal treasury; and the personnel and operations of the Tinian Casino Gaming Control Commission.
The expenditure authority of the funds is the Tinian mayor.
According to the measure, “There is available [fund] in the amount of $90,000 from local license fees for pachinko slot machines and poker machines identified by the Department of Finance.”
