They are Make-a-Wish Guam & CNMI, American Red Cross-Northern Marianas, Salvation Army-Saipan Corps, Salvation Army-Guam Corps, and Guam Memorial Hospital Volunteers Association.

Donations to the selected Saipan non-profit organizations were presented at Aqua Resort Club in a ceremony hosted by the hotel and Tsubaki Tower.

“We know how hard times are for these wonderful organizations, and we hope these donations will help them in the work that they do in our islands,” said Guam Business Magazine publisher Maureen N. Maratita.

Make-a-Wish Guam & CNMI grants the wishes of medically eligible children between the ages of 30 months and 18 years.

American Red Cross-Northern Marianas delivers vital services, such as providing relief and support to those in crisis, to helping people be prepared to respond in emergencies. It provided aid during post-Super Typhoon Yutu, and recently provided assistance to households affected by a Capital Hill brushfire.

Similarly, the Salvation Army helps fund emergency response efforts, providing food, water, and shelter to those in need.

Guam Memorial Hospital Volunteers Association renders voluntary services to GMH patients, families, and visitors.

The New Year, New Hope Initiative was supported by past Guam Business Magazine Executives of the Year, as well as several prominent companies in the Mariana Islands. They chose the non-profits [that] receive these donations.

The Andrea R. Ilao Foundation served as administrative partner for this initiative.

Executives of the Year are the individuals recognized by the Guam Business Magazine as exceptional executives throughout the Micronesian islands.

“These leaders and organizations have made this unique initiative possible by their swift response. The magazine was unable to host a gala this year, but through their support, the program can still make a positive contribution in 2021,” said Maratita.
