(Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.) — Fifty-one additional individuals have been confirmed positive for Covid-19, bringing the CNMI total to 4,118 cases since March 26, 2020, CHCC reported on Thursday evening. The individuals have been isolated and are actively monitored.
Of the 51 cases identified on Jan. 19, 2022:
23 were identified via contact tracing, 17 via community testing, and 11 via travel testing.
As of Jan. 20, 2022, there were 7 individuals hospitalized as a result of Covid-19:
3 were unvaccinated, 3 vaccinated, 1 partially vaccinated; 1 on a ventilator; and 1 discharged.
A total of 184 Covid-19 vaccines were administered on Jan. 20, 2022, resulting in 98.3% of the CNMI’s eligible population being fully vaccinated.
The vaccination statuses of the 51 new cases identified are pending verification.
A total of 503 Covid-19 tests were conducted on Jan. 19, 2022:
419 community-based testing
48 at the Covid-19 Community Center (referrals only)
11 at Tinian Health Center
25 at Rota Health Center
Of the total cases identified, as of Jan. 19, 2022, there had been 3,648 recoveries and 449 active cases.
1,877 of the cases were identified via contact tracing; 1,774, community testing; and 467, travel testing.
There have been 21 Covid-19-related deaths since March 2020.
