RISE & Flow beach yoga happens every Monday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in the former sunset barbecue dining area of Aqua Resort Club.
Kerri Bauer conducts the class which, she said, is great for all levels.
Yoga is a total mind-body experience, with physical and mental benefits, she said. Yoga can reduce stress and anxiety, and is also a great way to strengthen one’s core, arms and legs. Moreover, it helps improve balance and flexibility.
Bauer, who has been teaching yoga for 15 years now, said there are people who prefer more advanced yoga poses such as handstands.
But in her class, she said participants are welcome to move at their own pace.
As for those who don’t think they are flexible enough or those who have had previous bone injuries, she said they can still do yoga with certain modifications.
If, for example, performing a certain exercise on a certain day may be challenging to a participant, he or she can skip the class and do something else that is good for him or her.
Yoga, Bauer reiterated, is about mind-body connection, a kind of physical activity that “we don’t do in our everyday life.”
Participants will appreciate the meditative element of yoga which allows them to “sit and connect, and do the things they can do,” she said.
At an Aqua Resort Club yoga class, you’ll be around other people who like to connect with nature, and who want to start and end their week by moving their bodies.
Aqua Resort Club sales manager Noriko Jim said their relaxing environment is a “perfect match” for yoga’s health benefits.
She said yoga as a healthy lifestyle option “matches our image because Aqua Resort is a perfect place and very quiet so we want people to experience it right here.”
Rise & Flow beach yoga is only $7 per class. One can also purchase a punch pass for 10 classes for $50.
There’s also the monthly Class & Glass beach sunset yoga at the Aqua Resort poolside. The cost is $15 per class and includes a drink from Michelle’s Beach Bar.
The next Class & Glass class is set for Feb. 4, at 5:30 p.m.
Aqua Resort Club’s in-house guests can avail themselves of this great opportunity, for free.
