THE Saipan Higher Education Financial Assistance program has extended the deadline for submission of Spring 2022 financial assistance applications.
SHEFA Administrator Merissa Rasa in an announcement said that due to the recent rise of Covid-19 cases and the unforeseen circumstances of the pandemic, the SHEFA board of directors had extended the application submission deadline to Dec. 15, 2021.
The original deadline was Dec. 1, 2021.
All new and returning applicants are encouraged to submit their Spring 2022 applications on or before the new deadline.
SHEFA board chairman Oscar M. Babauta said a lot of students have informed the SHEFA office that they wouldn’t be able to beat the deadline because they had to undergo community-based testing.
The students, he said, did not want to go out until they get a negative test result.
“We SHEFA board members really sympathize with our college-bound students,” he added.
