SUPERIOR Court Associate Judge Wesley Bogdan signed and issued an arrest warrant for 19-year-old Aberick Taday Taman based on information gathered by police investigators, Department of Public Safety spokesman Dre Pangelinan said.

According to DPS, on Sunday, Nov. 7, at approximately 4:34 p.m., police received a 911 call regarding an assault and battery incident in Susupe. Police units responded to the scene.

There, officers met with the victim who told them the physical and sexual abuse she had endured over the course of a few months at the hands of her boyfriend, Taman.

On Nov. 8, 2021, around 5:21 p.m., police arrested Taman on Capital Hill and interviewed him. He admitted to the charges, and was brought to Kanoa Resort, the island’s Covid-19 alternate care site, for clearance before he was transported to the Department of Corrections where he was booked and detained, police said.
