THE Department of Public Works on Monday presented to the Marianas Racing Association a John Deere skid-steer loader that will help the motocross group maintain the raceway track in Cow Town, Marpi.
Gov. Ralph DLG. Torres and DPW-Roads and Grounds Director Mike Borja presented the $140,000 machine to MRA president Charles V. Cepeda, vice president Cuki Alvarez, and board members Ray Yumul, Bridgette Camacho, Henry Camacho and Vanessa Camacho at the raceway.
The funding source is the American Rescue Plan Act monies provided to the CNMI.
In a statement, the governor said the skid-steer loader will “assist the MRA in their maintenance of the Cow Town raceway park, so that the MRA may continue to provide the community with a safe space to facilitate motocross races.”
The governor thanked Cepeda, Alvarez, and the MRA board members for their continued efforts to develop the sport in the CNMI. He added that his administration will continue to support the MRA.
Additionally, through this partnership, the MRA will be able to maintain the Cow Town raceway park in anticipation of the next racing season.
