THE cadets of the 14th Fire Academy Cycle will graduate on Jan. 7, 2022, but the date may still change, Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services Commissioner Dennis Mendiola said.
The fire academy officially began on July 19, 2021 with 43 cadets: seven from Rota, six from Tinian, and 30 from Saipan.
Mendiola said the cadets have to train for “five months, and [undergo] one month of on-the-job training.”
Currently, he added, the cadets are “in the process of completing the academic phase and must acquire 40 credits from Northern Marianas College” before they can graduate from the fire academy.
The 14th Fire Academy cadets stand at attention at the Capital Hill fire station.
