AS of Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021, 13 individuals had been hospitalized as a result of Covid-19. Nine of them are unvaccinated.
None are currently on a ventilator, the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. said, and two individuals had been discharged from the alternate care site at Kanoa Resort.
Since March 2020, the CNMI has reported 1,908 positive Covid-19 cases, of which more than 85%, or 1,634 cases, were identified through community screening while 274 were identified via travel screening.
As of Sunday, 669 of the positive cases had recovered while 945 remained active.
The CNMI reported its sixth Covid-19 fatality on Saturday.
143 individuals were confirmed positive for Covid-19 through surveillance testing from Friday, Dec. 10 to Saturday, Dec. 11.
A total of 1,129 Covid-19 tests were conducted from Friday to Saturday.
Since the detection of positive Covid-19 community cases in late October, 1,617 new cases had been identified.
As of Sunday, 91% of the eligible population 12 years of age or older were fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
CHCC continues to encourage unvaccinated individuals to get vaccinated to prevent severe illness, hospitalization, and death.
Covid-19 vaccines are available at the multi-purpose center in Susupe from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday, and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
Individuals 18 years of age or older are now eligible to avail themselves of a booster shot, while 16- and 17-year-olds can avail themselves of the Pfizer-BioNTech booster shot.
