(MVA) — Innovators hoping to take their tourism ideas to the next level have until Sunday, Oct. 5, to register for the Marianas Visitors Authority Mafuti Tank competition.
Mafuti Tank is a collaborative pitch competition of MVA and the CNMI Small Business Development Center designed to help bring to reality new community-initiated ideas and businesses that enhance the visitor experience in The Marianas.
“Today’s traveler wants to make authentic connections in the destination they visit…meet the local people, experience the local foods and way of life, even give back,” said MVA Managing Director Jamika R. Taijeron. “By expanding opportunities for visitors to do that in The Marianas, we can elevate our reputation as a destination where visitors can become a part of our community, if they’d like. By highlighting what makes us unique, we will increase demand for our destination and airlines will more reason to come. Mafuti Tank is a springboard toward building organic demand from respectful visitors who value who we are and what we offer in The Marianas. We encourage anyone with an innovative idea for improving the visitor experience to apply!”
