(Press Release) — The SHRM NMI Chapter will host its first general membership meeting or GMM of 2026 on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Kevin’s at Aqua Resort Club. The meeting will run from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with doors opening at 8:30 a.m. for registration and networking.
The March GMM will feature a timely and practical discussion titled “Your Competitive Edge: Building Talent Through the Registered Apprenticeship Program.”
The session will be delivered in partnership with the CNMI Department of Labor and the Workforce Investment Agency, whose representatives will present on how the Registered Apprenticeship Program can serve as a strategic workforce development tool for businesses and government agencies across the Commonwealth.
As the CNMI continues to navigate workforce shortages and economic recovery, the Registered Apprenticeship Program offers employers a structured approach to developing local talent through paid, on-the-job training combined with related instruction. Attendees will gain insight into how apprenticeship programs can help organizations build sustainable talent pipelines, strengthen employee retention, and expand career opportunities for residents.
In addition to the educational session, the event will also include a special ceremony recognizing the leadership of the chapter. During the meeting, the 2026 SHRM NMI Chapter board of directors will be formally installed through an oath of office ceremony, marking the official start of the board’s term and reaffirming the chapter’s continued commitment to advancing the human resources profession in the Northern Mariana Islands.
To encourage broader participation from the HR community, SHRM NMI has introduced updated registration rates for this meeting. SHRM members may attend for $35, while future members may register for $40. Recognizing the importance of engaging the next generation of professionals, the chapter has also introduced a student rate of $20 for both high school and college students.
For organizations interested in attending as a team, SHRM NMI is also offering a new group rate of $30 per person for groups of four or more individuals from the same organization. SHRM membership is not required to take advantage of the group rate.
Participants are encouraged to register early to secure their seats. No-show fees valued at the same entry fee rate will apply for individuals who register but do not attend.
