GPPC Inc. on Saipan has been awarded a $33.8 million contract to rehabilitate the runway of the Yap International Airport.
GPPC said it is grateful to the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration and the Federated States of Micronesia national government for their confidence in the contractor.
In a letter, Federated States of Micronesia Department of Transportation, Communication & Infrastructure Secretary Carlson D. Apis informed GPPC Inc. resident Hang Chieng Tan that the FSM national government, with the FAA’s concurrence, was awarding GPPC the contract for the Yap International Airport runway rehabilitation project.
In a statement, GPPC vice president and contracts manager Annie F. Pagulayan said: “It’s an honor to become their partner in achieving their goal for this very important project. Indeed, we are very much pleased and grateful for their trust and believing in GPPC’s proficiency in this type of project.”
GPPC business development consultant John S. Reyes, for his part, said, “We thank the Federal Aviation Administration for the confidence in our performance in other GPPC projects. We would not get this huge FAA project if they didn’t believe in us.”
